As I write this (2023), New Mexico has been my home for almost two decades. In the early 1960’s I lived in Orchard Park (no longer exists) and Roswell, in the southeastern part of the state. I finished elementary school in the schools of Dexter and Roswell, New Mexico - so that part of my life in New Mexico is well in the past and is represented by memories rather than photographs.
Because southern New Mexico is my “home patch” now, I have a fair amount of material, both video and photographs, from this area. To make access to that material a bit more easy I have divided the material from New Mexico as follows:
- Northern New Mexico - this section of the website covers the major metropolitan areas of the north, Albuquerque and Santa Fe, as well as the various cultural sites in the area. There are separate pages and photo galleries for The Northern Part of the State, for Albuquerque and for Santa Fe;
- Southern New Mexico - this section of the state starts roughly at Socorro and covers the area south of there;
- New Mexico Flora - photo gallery;
- New Mexico Mammals - photo gallery;
- New Mexico Bugs - photo gallery;
- New Mexico Birds - a species listing with links to photos and video taken within the state and a photo gallery;
- New Mexico Butterflies and Moths - photo gallery and video links;
- New Mexico Reptiles and Amphibians - this section of the site includes a listing of species and a photo gallery.
Of significance is the fact that I maintain a separate website about my home patch, the Black Range of New Mexico. This site has an extensive amount of information about the cultural and natural history of that area.
